My film and TV career as a composer and occasional onscreen artist

Here is the full repertoire of my inclusions on the silver screen from Guy Ritchie’s 2018 blockbuster feature King Arthur, a Peaky Blinders 1st series cameo to most recently 2023’s The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry composing the full soundtrack. My unique musical position as a broker between the ancient world of folk songs and the modern music and entertainment industry has got me some pretty sweet gigs. If you were to tell me when I first started learning the old songs that I was going to be singing on Hollywood blockbusters, well I’d have probably laughed you out of my meadow. Since my first screen appearance in 2009 in Matt Stokes celebrated art film ’The Gainsborough Packet’, I’ve had cameos in Peaky Blinders, sang on Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur; Legends of the Sword, sang the theme for cult US indie movie The Parting Glass. And in 2022 somehow managed to work on 3 different movies including the full soundtrack for cult director Hettie McDonald’s (Beautiful Thing, Normal People) The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I also composed songs for Elaine Sheldon’s Appalachian documentary King Coal and American British folk horror Lord of Misrule. Most recently I worked on the score for Almost Invisible Angels, Voiced by Sir Mark Rylance. Songs of mine have also featured in many other programs and films besides but the above are the ones where I have worked more bespokely on the soundtrack
